Carnival Cruise Line targets more agents for trade loyalty club

Carnival Cruise Line will sign up every agent to its trade loyalty scheme at a conference this week on board its new ship Carnival Horizon.

A total of 144 agents are attending a two-night Broaden Your Horizon conference, starting on Wednesday, on the 3,960 passenger-capacity vessel.

Iain Baillie, Carnival Cruise Line’s vice president for UK and international sales, said he intends to further boost membership figures to the Loyalty Rocks Club at the conference, run in partnership with Clia and Travel Weekly.

Carnival Cruise Line launched a Loyalty Rocks Club app earlier this year to operate alongside the scheme’s desktop version.

The app allows agents to communicate with Carnival while on the move and claim bookings, complete online training and earn rewards.

Speaking on board Carnival Horizon, Baillie said: “What I am hearing from the travel agents is very encouraging. We are getting good sign up levels.

“Everybody on board for the Clia conference we are going to make sure they sign up. When we do business with people as long as they want to do it we provide them access to the app.”

Baillie hailed the support of UK agents, adding the trade in this country made a “healthy contribution” to Carnival’s business.

He said: “These are partners that don’t just dip in one year with us and out the other. They are consistent with us and very supportive of us throughout.

“The positivity of this is that the UK continues to grow year after year.

“That is down to the great trade relations and great partners that we have. They continue to do a great job for us and that is why we think travel agents rock.”
